Sixth grade is when a child is moving on from elementary school to junior high. This is when a lot of things start to change for kids as far as socialization and hobbies. If your kid wants to have a cool party, a DJ dance party is a good way to get them acclimated to middle school life. Junior high school is when most of the co-ed parties will begin your kid can have the first kickoff. Here are some tips for planning the hottest DJ dance party in the sixth grade.
Find a party venue that allows running around
Kid's dances tend to get a little bit rowdy, so there will need to be plenty of room to walk around, dance, and serve food. When searching for party venues for children, make sure that the dance floor is not easily scuffed, as most will be wearing tennis or everyday shoes for comfort. Along with plenty of space and a sturdy dance floor, you should also make sure that the area is wired for DJ service and that the air conditioning works well. All of these factors make for a comfortable party.
Pick a great DJ
If you want the kids to have fun, then it is best to find a fun DJ. There are DJs for hire in every town who can work with any sort of musical tastes. Let the DJ know that you will be hosting a party for preteens and that you would like popular music to be played. A disk jockey who is well known is also a good pick, as kids are sure to show up to the party to be able to take photographs and enjoy the music. A DJ who can bring along the equipment such as the DJ booth and strobe lighting is a good purchase.
Pick popular food
It can be difficult to create meals for a party with a lot of preteen children. Instead of wearing yourself out in the kitchen go with popular food choices for catering. These can be fast food options that are placed in a buffet spread or they can be popular grocery store snacks and sweets, such as brownies, cake, soda, and chips. Be sure to provide a number of options and properly label each so that children with food allergies know what to stay away from. Sit the spread on the opposite side of the DJ booth and dance floor and provide chairs for children to sit in and converse when they want to take a break.
